SANDY B FISHING CHARTERS

When we say the Sandy B is packed with electronics we mean it. Redundancy and safety is the name of the game. For finding fish we have a powerful Furuno fishfinder AND a Wesmar eight inch sonar. To my knowledge there are no other charter vessels in New England that carry a commercial grade Sonar or any sonar for that matter. Another tool we use to find fish is our Radio Direction Finder. If we hear someone talking on the marine radio the RDF allows us to pinpoint the direction of the conversation.
Navigation equipment includes two Furuno GPS's as well as two 14 inch laptop displays . We usually have the navigation charts on one display, and the bathymetric charts on the other. Not one but two Furuno 48 mile radars are interfaced to the GPS's. For those long steams (multi day trips to the Canyons) there is a watch alarm as well as a Furuno Single Side Band Radio for communications.

Make sure to bring a couple of video tapes as well. We carry two closed circuit color camera's as well. One camera is used to monitor the engine room. The other camera is trained on the back deck. Pop the tape in the onboard VCR, and record the action when you are fighting that giant tuna!! Of course there is a Television to watch the tape on as well.
