Bluefin Tuna trips Charters have been super productive. We started off the year hot. Multiple bites almost every trip. Fish have been averaging 68 to 75 inches. As in the past several years, we have been having especially good luck catching tuna "on the kite". Kite fishing for tuna has to be about the most exciting way to hook a tuna. The adrenaline rush when a tuna airs out on a kite bait is absolutely phenomenal. Now that the summer is drawing to a close we have begun to take charters where the BIG fish show up prior to migrating. It's the time of year to hook giants!
We are currently fishing for cod and haddock. Trips this year have proven to be absoultely fantastic. We have been literally bailing cod and haddock over the gunwales! Our season this year is off to a fantastic start.
Striped bass fishing has been very good. The fishing vessel Sandy B will not target little schoolies. Targeting small bass will allow you to catch a number of small bass, and maybe a 28 inch keeper or two. We have been and will continue to fish for trophy size bass only. You may only cacth two or three fish in a four hour trip - BUT - they have all been in the 36 to 50+ inch range. The fall run of bass is due to show up any day. Stay tuned.
